The influence of the meaning of work on the meaning of life in the elderly work project participants - Focusing on mediating effects of support expectation attitude -

Abstract

|
This study was to explore factors which affect the meaning of life in old people who are participating in the job creation project for the elderly. Most of former studies on the elderly work project participants have been showing effects of the project itself, but this study focused on the inner side of the project participants in order to verify the influence on the meaning of life according to the meaning of work and demographic characteristics in the participants, and to analyze a mediating effect of support expectation attitudes. In this study, we identified that the meaning of life in the participants are influenced by demographic characteristics, the meaning of work and support expectations, and we verified mediating effects of support expectation attitudes. The results of this study show that the job creation project for the elderly led by the
government is helpful to supporting poor senior citizens, and that the project participants not only get the new meaning of life in their old age but also give a positive influence on their children for support expectation attitude.
